Serve With Us

    • Readers (Lectors)
      Proclaim the Word of God during Mass by reading the First and Second Readings, and leading the Prayers of the Faithful.

    • Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion
      Assist the priest in distributing the Eucharist during Mass and sometimes take Communion to the sick or homebound.

    • Altar Servers
      Support the priest during Mass by assisting with the liturgical vessels, processions, and other duties on the sanctuary.

    • Sacristans
      Prepare the sacred vessels, books, vestments, and elements needed for each Mass, and help ensure the smooth running of liturgies.

    • Welcomers/Ushers
      Greet parishioners and visitors as they arrive, help them find seating, distribute hymn sheets or bulletins, and assist with the collection.

    • Music Ministers
      Contribute to the liturgy through music — including choir members, cantors, musicians, and organists.

    • Collectors
      Take up the financial collection during Mass and help with its secure handling.

    • Church Environment & Flowers Team
      Assist in preparing the church environment for different liturgical seasons, including flower arranging and visual elements.

Volunteering with our parish at the Toorak Ecumenical Op Shop
    • Committee Member – Helps guide the Op Shop’s mission and operations.

    • Shop Assistant – Assists with serving customers and managing donated goods.

Parish Activities and Events
  • Morning Tea Helper or Event Hospitality – Supports parish gatherings by setting up, serving, and welcoming.

  • Flower Arranger or Donor – Assists with arranging or donating flowers to decorate the church for weekends and feast days.

  • Parish Choir Member or Musician – Contributes to the beauty of the liturgy through music and song.

Visiting the homebound
  • Communion and Visitation Ministry – Visits and brings Holy Communion to parishioners who are elderly, unwell, or homebound.

To ensure a safe and well-supported environment, the Archdiocese of Melbourne requires all parish volunteers to complete and submit the following documentation.

  • All volunteers are required to complete a Parish Code of Conduct Form. To request a copy, please contact our parish office.

  • A police check is required for volunteers involved in:

    • Thanksgiving counting

    • Sacramental Preparation

    • Visitation ministries

  • If you would like to assist with parish hospitality at our events such as Morning Teas or Pizza Nights, you’ll need to complete a short online food handling course, designed to enable you to understand how to safely work with, and handle, food in commercial settings.
