The Sacrament of Confession

Confession, also called Reconciliation, is a sacrament of healing and mercy. It’s where we come before God with honesty, acknowledge our sins, and receive His forgiveness. Through this sacrament, we are reconciled with God and with the Church, and given the grace to start anew.

We make our confession to a priest, who acts in the person of Christ. He listens, offers guidance, and speaks the words of absolution, assuring us that our sins are truly forgiven by God. Confession times are listed on the Mass times page

Making Your First Reconciliation

For children not attending Our Lady of Lourdes Primary School, preparation classes are arranged after school in the 7 weeks before the reception of the Sacrament. Children in our parish prepare to celebrate their First Reconciliation before receiving First Holy Communion, and need to be Baptised Roman Catholics in Year 3 or above.

Please Note: Enrolments are now CLOSED for 2025.

Please contact our Parish Office for details regarding 2026 Sacramental registrations.
